Dr. Angela Peterson grew up in Gautier, MS and in 1985, she enrolled at Mississippi State University and graduated in 1992 from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Peterson joined us at the Animal Health Center and was here until the spring of 2014. From 2014 until 2016, she worked at Bay Spring Veterinary Hospital for Dr. Danielle Garrison. In July 2016, Dr. Peterson made her return to the Animal Health Center as our managing veterinarian. Dr. Peterson’s areas of interest are geriatric medicine and dentistry, including treatment and management of periodontal disease. She's also certified in abdominal ultrasonography. Dr. Peterson has been married to Joel Shows for over 25 years. Together they have 3 feline fur children: Miz Brooks, Doobie, and Rory. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, running, fitness training, and spending time with friends.
